Hi All.....thought i would bring this to the attention of anyone that has fitted a Superspoke Removable Steering wheel......on S1 and S2 cars... have you fitted the collar/spacer onto the steering shaft.....S3 cars should have a rubber buffer but if you dont then you also need tne spacer.....this was highlighted in another post by a forum member who had not fitted the collar and his steering wheel came off fortunatly in his garage....i mentioned this to Steve Simmons at Superspoke who has added to this post (bottom of page 4).and added more detail to the fitting video.. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9522&start=30

Hello all ! As I perused the forum I was impressed at the amount of information available to those of us with the Jaguar fever ! I was especially interested in postings about the "Super Spokes" and "CMC" removeable steering wheel devices. I've never had any problems easing my gut behind the wheel but, in later life, a pair of dodgy knees would appreciate any relief available. Most of the posts are about 8 years old but I was hoping that further info might still be available especially as to where one can still purchase one of these devices. I've once again come up with a dead end here in the States and will have to rely on the kindness of strangers to help solve the problem. Any and all leads are greatly appreciated !! Cheers !! Bob, have you talked to CMC as they still list the removable steering wheel?

I know some members have also sourced parts from the motor racing world as so many racing cars have them.
It might be worth looking at what is available from US racing companies and see if something can be modified to fit if CMC can’t help you.

Here’s a UK company’s product that has been used by one of our members a few years ago:

And a brief online search for “steering wheel quick release” found quite a few similar systems out there that could be used as part of your own design, or at least for a few beers you’ll find someone local who could help put it together.

Good luck

Geoff

Last time I spoke to CMC (Mar24) they said they have stopped supplying e-type versions and although their website states e-type, once you attempt to select, the only option is XK140/XK150. A shame as I was hoping to purchase one as it did seem to be one of the better options out there;

I have a Superspoke that is surplus to requirements. But I'm in the States, so not sure it's worth listing here.
