#1 Rear Bumper Overriders 4.2 S1

Post by eTypeG » Fri Apr 24, 2020 11:55 am

Hi,
I have had my bumpers and overriders refurbed and started putting them together today. I have noticed on the rear bumpers the two overriders seems to sit differently (see below), one has a gap between it and the top face of the bumper and the other dose not. Which is correct (if any)?, the profile (the edges that make contact with the bumper) of the overriders seems to be different

Many Thanks for the reply, the overriders were on the car as a pair a S1 1965 4.2 FHC, but I can't remember how they looked fiited.

Does anyone have or can take photos of how the rear overriders are supposed to sit on the bumpers please.

I also have a series 1 1965 FHC and have the rear bumpers off the car. The next time I'm working on it I'll try and remember to take some pictures.

My overriders match the bumper shape pretty closely and are both the same. The gap is minimal between the two.

Many thanks for the reply, your photos have helped a great deal. The question now is do I source original used overriders and have them restored or buy new from say SNG or someone similar ???.

Here’s a start (link below).
Probably more cost effective than buying used and restoring. I was lucky enough to find a perfect second hand RHF for mine with just enough patina to match my bumper.

I’m afraid I can’t answer that but I’m sure they can.
