Greetings - I have installed new masters for Brakes and Clutch on a restoration. I don't have the old pipes/nuts from the Reservoirs to the cylinders. Does anyone know if these are 1/4" pipe (7/16 20 UNF nut) or 5/16" pipe (1/2 20 UNF nut).
Thanks for the insight -

Found a 7/16 20 UNF bolt that fits the cylinders. Must be a 1/4" line so I will order proper long brake line nuts from Fedhill.com

Hi,
If you mean the feed into the masters then I believe that it’s choline ( rubber) that the feed to 1/4 copper.
If you search “ choline” on the forum you will find lots of info

I've got a feeling that the feed pipe from the reservoir is bigger than 1/4", but I don't have a car here to look at ATM.Airborne62 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 1:50 pmFound a 7/16 20 UNF bolt that fits the cylinders. Must be a 1/4" line so I will order proper long brake line nuts from Fedhill.com
If your thread is definitely 7/16" it might be 5/16 pipe.
All of the other brake fittings are 3/8"UNF and have 1/4" pipe.
EDIT. This is wrong see below.

Typical is 1/4 inch pipe with its flare fitting needing 7/16 -20 unf........brake calipers etc 3/16 pipe with 3/8-24 fitting ......the fitting that screws into the master is an outlet union part 10921 the thread on the master is 5/8-18 unf.(depending on your master)and accepts the 7/16-20 into it....this is from memory so please feel free to chip in with more detail.....Steve

I'm pretty sure Steve is right.
EDIT. I have measured some pipe and fittings I have.
the 3/8 UNF fittings take 3/16" pipe. The pipe I have is 0.190" OD.
The bigger fitting is 7/16 UNF, and has a bore of 0.260", so uses 1/4" pipe.
Sorry for any confusion.
