Lowered the car onto the engine and gearbox today, cumbersome due to lack of space, but worked out fine. Two questions I haven't been able to find answers on:
1. The rod at the rear of the gearbox that goes down the spring and bushing, what should there be below the gearbox rear mounting bracket with the big spring? The rod has a hole for a clip/split, but should there not be a washer or something? In the box from the seller there is a thick big washer, but hole in it is too small for the rod...
2. Wanted to install C19179 torsion bar reactions plate. But it wouldn't fit because it hit on the gearbox/engine block brackets C19206/C19207. Interestingly one of those two brackets had been cut to maybe make installation of reactions plate possible, I would need to cut the other one like it. But is there a better solution? SNGs adjustable reactions plate C19179ADJ seems to have fixed the issue with the modified shape. But...what worked originally, there must have been a reaction plate and two brackets that didn't occupy the same space??

Nothing below that pin, the hole is there to insert a pin which keeps the spring compressed to facilitate removal of the box with the mount attached. Be warned that spring contains a lot of energy when compressed.
E-type rear engine brackets have a cut out to accommodate the reaction plate, other xk engines don't. Sounds like you have 1 bracket from a non E-type engine.

Would anybody have a part# or a picture of the E-type-special rear engine bracket?
