#1 Brake and clutch cylinders

Post by Jaguar12 » Sun Nov 24, 2024 7:18 pm

Hi everyone,

My Jan. 66 S1 has been off the road for probably 50 years. It looks as if the clutch cylinder is somehow plated (cad or zinc?) and the slave plain cast iron. Not sure about the brake master and servo cylinders. They are mainly rusted and it could be black paint or just cast iron.
Since I am looking for „as it left the factory“, I would appreciate comments and maybe pictures of original cylinders.

Thanks
Daniel

I think they're bare cast iron from factory, but I tend to paint them in silver caliper paint.

I agree your clutch master looks to have been maybe zinc plated.

Have a look at the "Factory Fit" threads if you haven't already. Tons of pictures.
