#1 Boot drain channel

Post by alunwill » Tue Jul 01, 2025 6:36 pm

My drain channel at the rear boot needs some work. It's rusted out above the number plate, where the drain pipe sits and further along where the inner finisher flange is formed. Can you buy a "U" shaped patch panel for this area. I've Checked the normal suppliers but drawn a blank.

Any advice would be much appreciated

The usual reply to this would be to try Monocoque Metalworks. I would expect that Chuck would have an answer .
Series 1 FHC purchased 40 years ago. Courted my wife in it.
Series 1 2+2 when the kids were small now sold.
Series 1.5 OTS in opalescent maroon, Californian car. My retirement present.

Hi Tim,

Yes monocoque do supply the channel. I was wondering if there was anything in the UK before I took the plunge.

If Monocoque supplies the channel it would be wise to purchase it as the fit will be correct in all dimensions. It could save you a lot of “fettling”.
