Has anyone tried fitting spot lamps to an S1? There appear to be some small in size but decent output lamps available which, if feasible, I would like to fit, ideally in a way that could be easily detached and refitted as required. I find I am using the car increasingly frequently (just seems to get better the more she's driven) and at night, despite having fitted the halogen conversion assembly, the beams are not great especially in the rain.

A couple of options?

Not sure what it would do to the airflow though.

Thanks for the suggestions - as you say the airflow might be an issue but the lamps I've seen as possible fitments are smaller than those shown in the pictures and since I'm going to try and make them easily detachable via clamps and connectors etc, I would hope to be able to run them only at night when air temp is usually cooler. They definitely won't enhance the look of the glorious look of the car so I shan't go down this route I don't think if can make them demountable. As I said previously I am using the car quite a lot more than I originally envisged though it isn't my daily driver - still not keen on getting her too wet etc but night vision in rural areas verges on the unacceptable at present and it's nice to stay out sometimes!
The S1 glass covers seem to get dirty from inside despite my best, and so far unsuccessful, efforts to seal the bowls etc and apart from the beam distortion aspect this clearly aggavates the problem. I guess the majority of S1 owners don't have this issue or don't use their cars at night too much otherwise more replies would have been forthcoming.

#4 driving lights
I have friends with 3.5 inch driving lights on their motorcycles that are extremely bright and work very well. They could mount inside the bonnet's opening and not block the airflow. They can be found in listings for off road products.
