#1 S1 Coupe sunvisors

Post by Michaelg » Sun Jun 18, 2017 6:43 am

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get the chrome plastic early sunvisor trim for my S1 Coupe which formed the edging to the square sunvisors? I've tried the usual suspects with no result.

Many thanks.

I believe it is unobtainable unless you can find a compatible substitute. Best alternative is to fit the more elegant alternative sun visors which were used on the S1. I have never got to the bottom of why/when the slimmer visors were fitted but they certainly suit the FHC better than the clunky ones. Check out the Factory Fit thread for details.

Finding the later FHC sun visors intact and usable is a problem. Newly re-covered ones appear very bright and matching the aged roof lining is a further obstacle.
CMC recently rebuilt mine using old headlining of a similar vintage to my '68 car and they look fantastic. Great service......no relationship to the company other than being a happy customer.

As it happens my car is also at CMC! They have just retrimmed it very well. A friendly bunch and highly expert.
