Just for the record: Citroen and Maserati have used mineral fluid (LHM = Liquide Hydraulique Minéral) in the hydraulic braking systems of their cars in the 70's: Citroen DS and SM, Maserati Indy, Bora and Khamsin, with superb efficiency.
In the case of Citroen, that use of LHM was extended to suspensions and steering, and for the Bora and Khamsin, it was also used in steering and for actuating a number of systems (seats, clutch, front lights, pedals, etc.).
The big advantage of LHM compared to DOT4 or 5.1 is the the very high pressure allowed in the system, ensuring a very powerful and resilient braking, and also the hydrophobicity of LHM (as for silicone).
Probably there are also disadvantages, such as e.g. a very sensitive braking and maybe others (I don't know them...) because that use was discontinued.
