Thank you all for your replies and input.

Its a shame that the JDC guy that used to undertake a monthly article for the JDC magazine no longer does so. This used to cover sales adverts and auction achieved rates, a useful insight.

my car may not be concourse but over £135K spent and air-con being fitted shortly. The air-con is the only diversion from standard ex production, I'm the 2nd owner. The only area of criticism I can see ( to not being a top 95% level car ) is the two rear side windows which I've not re-chromed, they're still pretty good though.

Everything else is new or rebuilt.

I'm reluctant to progress at the advised value of £80K, I feel it merits further debate and will follow Richard's earlier advice and get a valuation via a specialist. I'll let you know what they say

thanks again, John

A good restoration will always exceed the value of the car, some times even if you carry out most of the work yourself it is a labour of love a passion.

As will be demonstrated in March when a Triumph Herald restored some years ago at a cost of 60k (100k in today’s money) goes to auction 😮

Looks like a fresh paint over to me.

Could be covering up a whole lot of issues.

Cheers
