Just for info.........I have a late 3.8 FHC which had an 18lb flywheel (with engine no. stamped on). I fitted a Classic Jaguar alloy flywheel (12lbs) and have the original type spring clutch fitted.
Car drives perfectly , plenty torque in high gears/low revs.......no problems/issues.
My tuppence worth!

There are problems with using an alloy flywheel especially with a 5 speed box. Paul C at Medatronics can give you chapter and verse.
