Yes, the AR pre-amp is valve based and was sent away for upgrade rather than repair. It feeds a Krell FPB power amp and Wilson speakers with Velodyne active subs. I prefer vinyl so the main input is an SME 20 turntable, Koetsu Rosewood Platinum pickup and Sutherland battery powered phono stage. All digital stuff has been ripped to HDD, played via a Squeezebox Transporter and high end DAC whose name escapes me.

Unlikely, but it does sound good and makes you realise that even a 50 year old Beatles album sounds better than the digitised stuff we are forced to listen to. On the bright side sales of vinyl have now overtaken those of CD's so maybe there is hope for the youth of today and tomorrow!
