Randall, with my RH rubber strip I found it best to cut it into shorter pieces rather than trying to get it round the complex curve in one.

Having looked at the various stuff that was used in period around the LH valence, I was lucky enough to stumble across a period accessory kit on Ebay that was designed to make a better seal for that area.

It certainly looks credible by dint of its similarity with parts that were originally fitted, but there's a tweak in the form of a short angle that guides the same piece of rubber from start to finish.

What's more, the strips are stainless.

It's never going to be the smartest part of the car, but the original rubbers were pretty tacky and I think this version will work better.

The RH one that I had to cut and shut and re-weld is now just a bad memory, as the powder-coating has obliterated all my sins.

I don't like powder-coating, far preferring paint, as once it starts to rust it gnaws away unsuspected and then suddenly lifts off in sheets, but on this occasion I'm making an exception as the project was in need of a bit of momentum.
