This subject has gone round in circles for years and years. Back in the boom of 1990 it was the V12 that was the most sought after, over ?100,000, and only a few years back Classic and Sports Car were proclaiming the S1 4.2 as far and away the best investment due to the Jaguar box. In the late 1990s the flat floor was considered a poor car because of the Moss box and lack of room for anyone over 5' 9" and shoes of over size 9. Now it is the early 1961 cars that are pre-eminent with outside-lock cars in the stratosphere. Will the merry-go-round keep on turning? Me? Looking at the market I'd sit on my hands just now. I always remember the car I missed, #21 RHD roadster, that had a ?60,000 restoration by Southern Classics and sold for ?21,000 in 1992. James Hull bought it and now it is with Jaguar. Now that would have been an investment! I turned down ?75,000 in 1991 and a year later I'd lost ?50,000 - on paper anyway. She's still here!

Andrew

Once your friend has decided on "3.8" / "4.2" his next predicament is "home market RHD" / "LHD" / LHD converted to RHD or does it matter???
