My LHD 3.8 OTS (881743) is one of the last 150 made prior to the S1 4.2 being introduced. It currently has an incorrect radiator fitted some time ago in the US prior to it being imported. I wish to restore it back to the correct design of radiator fitted at that time.
I would want to fit an uprated radiator but would want the design to be correct. If someone could point me to the correct design, I would be grateful. I have been through the Factory Fit pages but cannot find exactly the information I need.
Many thanks!

Hi Phil...have a look in the parts catalogue...it gives part numbes to chassis number range.. in the knowledge base section, technical, 3.8 parts catalogue then you can cross reference to the S2 etc

Re the Radiator, the parts catalogue was not much help insofar that it just lists one part number for the radiator. I know the earlier types was finned. However, apart from that, were all subsequent radiators the same?mgcjag wrote:Hi Phil...have a look in the parts catalogue...it gives part numbes to chassis number range.. in the knowledge base section, technical, 3.8 parts catalogue then you can cross reference to the S2 etc

All 3.8's were fitted with the Marston radiator. Fosseway sell an exact copy of the Marston radiator and Coolcat Corp sell a replica Marston name plate. Everything you could ever want to know about Marston can be found in the Factory Fit thread: viewtopic.php?p=35414#p35414
As for the big horns there were two versions on the 3.8 cars with a change date of May 1962. The differences are very slight however and they look identical, fitted inside the bonnet. The same horns continued into 4.2 production until about June 1965 when they changed to the small frame mounted style so your car should have the big ones mounted in the headlamp apertures.

If you are going for originality I suggest you carefully study the '3.8 Factory Fit' thread as it contains a wealth of detail.

Radtec also sell a Marston copy. Just fitted one in mine. A1 and it is £300 cheaper than the Fosseway version. Coolkat plate finishes it off nicely too
