I know there has been discussion elsewhere about there being an "early" seal, which I understand was glued to the boot lid, and which is probably the D-shaped one, photographed on the left here, from SNGB BD18055/1 ?

It dates from 2014 and I've never fitted it.

I have had the more conventional one (seen right) fitted for 10 years and whilst I think it does its job and doesn't upset the fit of the boot-lid unduly, it buckles in the corner radiuses and doesn't look right.

Could other users tell me whether they've found satisfaction with seals others than the two shown here please ?

Hi Rory, I have exactly the same issue and I cannot find anything reasonable on the market. Anyone has a good solution?

Have you searched through COH Baines website as they have lots of seals of various profiles that might do the job for you? They may not have a relevant part number but if it does the job will that hurt?

I ended up using a U profile extrusion that was only rubber without the metal locking strips.

My trimmer got it but I'm not sure where from.

It's about half an inch high and the material is firmish rubber maybe 1/8" thick.

I just glued it on.

I think you will find you should be using the U seal fitted to the body at your car's age?
