#1 Heater Door/Flap under the dashboard

That odd heater door that sits under the dash, is it supposed to sit flush when closed? Both of mine sit at a slight angle, and I can't really see how they could be adjusted to sit flat. Or does the (unavailable) gasket take up the gap?
Any advice will be lost appreciated.

Hi Simon,
They are supposed to close flush. However, over time, the stops that hold them open at an angle start to bend and prevent them shutting properly. If you can get them removed (without shearing off all the four bolts holding them) they can be straightened to improve the closing. An easier solution is to just use a strip of adhesive draught excluder.
Cheers.

Thanks. It looks like the draught excluder solution is the one I'll go for. I have no wish to over-complicate things at this stage of the restoration!
