Conversion to covered headlamps for series 1.25

Hi,
I was looking at possibly converting a series 1.25 from open to covered headlamps.

There seems to be a choice of using panels from Monocoque metalworks + series one chrome and glass or the Wahlsinn conversion which is complete but non original and unsure of the quality.

Ignoring the difference in work involved, any experiences/preferences? I do think the original chrome surrounds are a bit chunky.
