#1 Steering Wheels Question

With my car came a boot full of spares\ memrobillia and history \car covers etc.
On of the items is this steering wheel, I dont think its a genuine e typre wheel no metal rim round the edge and no drill holes in the metal.
Any advice on whats it from welcome

It looks like the style of a Les Leston or Springall wheel of the 1960s, Clive. They had slotted spokes rather than the holes, and were popular aftermarket additions for many cars in the period. It also looks like it's been fitted onto a couple of different bosses.
Does it have any marks on it? The Les Leston wheels had a small 'LL' stamped into one of the spokes, whilst the Springall wheels had the name lightly etched onto the bottom (6 o'clock) spoke. If it has either of these it has some value (couple of hundred ??), otherwise probably not.
What diameter is it?

On the 6 o'clock spoke it has Walsall Wheels ltd - England....

Walsall Wheels made the steering wheels for Les Leston who sold car accessories and like MarkE says they have LL etched into the bottom spoke,ive got one hanging in the garage myself!.I think yours Clive is one of Walsall Wheels own,but still sought after.This one sold recently on ebay item number 110400221069,cheers Steve

I thought 200 would cover the cost of a new tyre :D
Best check through the other bits that came with it.
Think it will be getting a good polish and going on ebay

It looks like the wheel has an engine turned finish on the spokes... if so it might be worth doing a bit of research into how to polish it. I'm guessing that you wouldn't want to polish off that finish?!

I'm popping it on eBay next week end I don't want it it's to big for me...
It's sale will go towards more rubber I seem to buying shares in it at the moment....

I should if invested in a Rubber farm when in Thailand earlier this year
