#1 Photo under Sugar Scoop?

Does anyone have a photo of the inside of a S1 bonnet under the Sugar Scoop. I am trying to see what should be there (and what is missing) in terms of horn mounting brackets. This is so I can throw away my horrible after-market ones (which are sitting it in the front air intake!!) and then fit the proper WT618 units. I've looked through the factory fit pages and, whilst there is a picture of the horn inside the wing, it is not zoomed far enough out in order to see everything I need to. Many thanks!

Whether there is anything missing rather depends on the date your car was built . I can't answer the question of when things changed , but various S1 cars had underbonnet horns, and others had them attached to the picture frame, which is a much more convenient location

Mine is a June '64 3.8. From everything I've read, it should have the horns in the bonnet. I believe some of the very first 4.2s had these too prior to them being moved to under the picture frame. Looking through the front intake, I cannot see the mounting brackets on either side.

You can see them in the SPC diagram with an arrow helpfully pointing at one of them.

Hi David
That is great - thank you. Unfortunately, looking through the horn apertures, these mounts are missing. I am guessing a replacement lower panel was used when my car was restored back in 1985 by the PO which did not have the mounts present. Do you know if anyone makes these, or is it a case of fabricating from scratch? I can't see any reference in the normal suppliers' catalogues.
I would really like to have them present so that the correct horns can be bought and placed in the correct position.
Regards
Phil

First port of call would be Hustons - speak to Andy as he will tell you if they are available anywhere in the UK. Failing that I would speak to Chuck at Monocoque Metalworks in the US as they have them:

I bought a set of brackets for my series one in the UK. but cannot recall who from. I know they are made in aluminium, it may have been Hutsons.

Hutsons made some for me as they weren't on my replacement (Heritage) bonnet.
