Hi, before I go about peeling back/cutting into glued down material in order to find the upper seat belt mounting point on my 1964 3.8 OTS, does anyone have a photograph showing precisely where these are? I've seen a factory diagram but that is not much help in terms of preciseness of where to make the incision! I'm then hoping to find the plastic dummy screw in situ that I can then replace with the seat belt anchor bolt.

The set-up I have is now perfect, but I effectively did it twice with a 10 year gap in between - and didn't get it right first time.

I would advise against putting them in the cockpit with regard to the hood. Also, IMHO it looks a mess. There are no down-sides to sticking them behind the bulkhead, other than having to cut slots and being prepared to take some care with getting a flat seating under the anchorage point.

Thanks for that. I'd seen the inertia belt installations on the forum previously. To start with though, I'm just doing static 3 point belts and have paid for the US Lap Belts already fitted to the car to be converted to 3 point for MOT purposes. I may go for inertia belts when the car gets retrimmed at a future date. What is worrying me slightly is that the picture of your car "in the metal" is not showing the screw fixing points that I understood were pre-drilled at each corner of the shelf just in front of where the hood fits. Does your car have these?

Having peeled back the hardura on top of the rear parcel shelf of my 3.8 S1 OTS, I can confirm that the upper seat belt mounting points are not there (unlike one of the pictures from other posts on the forum). Instead, I found the following on the web. Mine were located as indicated on the diagram.
