#1 Seat shape

Post by Welsh62fhc » Thu Jan 25, 2018 1:31 pm

Hi Folks I have been trying to track down what chassis number did the seat backs change shape. Closest I can get so far is Chassis 861085, a first week of June 1963 car having the wider seat back with less arch shape to it. Can anyone find an earlier car than 861085 having the later seats.

If you are referring to the change from Roadster seats fitted to a FHC to the new seat for the latter mine, 860897 September 62 has the latter seat. It's all in Haddock from memory but someone will know I feel sure. Andrew

My March 1962 FHC 860294 has the narrow OTS seats - they were fitted at random during early production depending on what was available so both styles are correct. All the information you could want is in the 3.8 Factory Fit thread: viewtopic.php?p=52779#p52779

Cheers for that ... it has saved me hours of research, I have logged your car already a few weeks ago but my post today on my site can now close.
