#1 Heater pipes

Post by Welsh62fhc » Tue Feb 20, 2018 3:29 pm

Hi I am fitting new heater pipes before painting car, should the plates on the ends with 3 rivet holes be left black, or painted body colour.

Also every rivet gun I can find won't allow the rivet to pull up square, the pipe gets in the way of the gun.

Thanks Gary

The pipes and the front plates on my car were all painted black Gary. Have a look at all the photos in the Factory Fit threads which are particularly helpful in identifying correct paint finishes.
I put a small nut on the shaft of the pop rivet to act as a spacer between the gun and the rivet head, and that solves the problem of fouling with the pipe.
