#1 3.8 1962 gearbox tunnel cover colour?

I have taken off the existing cover to repaint it.
My question is I think the colour was gloss black rather than satin black. It is really hard to tell. I just want to be sure of the correct colour finish it was originally, if any body can confirm this please.

Certainly both of mine were gloss black

Edit : I was referring to the gearbox cover itself i.e. the bit which is screwed to the tunnel. I now see you are talking about the tunnel cover - I really don't think it matters, but I would have thought that Jaguar in those days would have used gloss black

Hi,
My 63 fhc was fairy flaky but there was evidence of gloss black when I cleaned it up, so that’s how I re-sprayed it.

Thanks chaps...That is what I was hedging towards..Gloss black it is!
I have also changed the title to reflect what Chris said.
