3.8 Bonnet Plug

About the only part of the electrical system from my 62' FHC that was useful and recognisable was the 8 pin electrical plug that fits inside the bonnet, not good enough to reuse though It was good enough to determine the pin orientation, which if anyone else is struggling with then please see below:

1 = Black (Earth) Positioned at top centre
2 = Blue White (Main beam)
3 = Blue Red (Dip beam)
4 = Purple Yellow (Horns, 3.8)
5 = Red (Side lights)
6 = Unused (Was for fog lamps)
7 = Green White (Indicator right)
8 = Green Red (Indicator left)

interestingly my 62 car with what I think is the original loom has the fog light wire present. Red with a yellow stripe if memory serves - runs all the way back to the light switch area...

Julian, agreed as did mine, and was present on the small tails attached to the bonnet plug, even connected into the junction block inside the bonnet, just not connected from there. I wonder if fog lights were a factory option and if so did they sell any?

Not a clue.....not found any info....mine had a light switch with an F position although there was a standard one in the glove box so I suspect the previous owner had done the swap rather than a factory fit.
