When I acquired my 1963 E-Type, the radio power wire had been disconnected from the fuse box, and the radio had a note saying "excessive current draw."

I sent it out for repair and just got it back. The power wire has the proper female spade fitting at the end, so it can physically be attached to any fuse block with an available male spade. (The power wire also has an in-line fuse).

Q1: Is there a specific fuse that should be used for the radio? (The radio is a BMCD model and apparently original to the car.)

Q2: Is there a specific wire or path for grounding the radio, or does it just rely on the various attachment screws and bolts?

A five amp fuse will be sufficient

Thanks for the guidance re 5 amps. Are radios therefore typically connected to Fuse #4 (the only 5 amp fuse)?

Don't use fuse 4. It is for the fuel pump. If the radio shorts you stop! Best to use a dedicated in line type fed from the live side (brown wires) of fuse 3 or 8 if you want the radio to work independently of the ignition or the ignition live side (white wires) of fuse 6 or 7 if you only want it to work when the ignition is on.
