Im about to start rewiring and installing headlight wiring diaphrams and scoops on my 1967 series 1 OTS

Questions ?
is it easier to have the bonnet standing vertical or laying on it back on my cradle to install the bonnet front wiring loom first?
Do I connect the crossover headlight wiring loom before I install the headlight diaphrams
Or do i stand the bonnet up after i install the diaphrams with the headlights mounted then work through the headlight openings to connect all the wiring?
When/how do I install the scoops? do I attach them to the headlight diaphrams first then install all at one time
Or do I install the diaphrams with the headlights mounted install all wiring then install the scoops through the headlight openings on the front of the bonnet?

Im sure its all very logical and straight forward but thought I would reach out before I go down the wrong path :-)

Having rewired my series 1 as part of the total rebuild, I can offer a "what-I-did" opinion...

I put the looms in pretty early on. Apart from the bonnet as that was kept off the car until it needed to be fitted... but I still put the loom in the bonnet first because then you have more access points to put your arms inside to pull the looms through and make them tidy. They are also clipped to the bodywork in a couple of places and you couldn't do that with the lights in place.

Fitting the scoops is a pain in the bottom regardless of what you do :) take your time and try different ways of angling them to go through the opening. You will find eventually that they simply slide in BUT it takes many failed attempts to work out how they did it in the factory without scratching any paint.

Yes, scoops will be the last.
I did the scoops last week when installing the headlamp relais conversion, they suddenly slide in (sometimes). You can bend them a little bit, though. And use masking tape (where you can get it off later...)

As said...get all the wiring done first. Ideally test to make sure the side lights, indicators and head lights work. If the bonnet is not connected it might be worth using a battery and fused leads to check that connecting each contact.On the 8 way plug illuminates the appropriate lights. The scoops go in last and once the near side one is in the wiring etc is completely inaccessible. If you have a fault it has to come out....and as others have said it is a real fiddle to get them in and out!
