Will replacing a series 1 4.2 brake servo with a series 3 servo significantly improve baking efficiency- stopping distance.
I have sng barrrat 4 pot calipers on the front and standard calipers at the rear.

No. It will make no difference to braking efficiency at all. It won't do anything but change the amount of braking effort at the pedal, if that.

I wouldn't expect you to have a problem if you have 4 pot calipers fitted. Maybe you need larger diameter master and slave cylinders if you are running out of pedal travel.
The rear brakes play a relatively small role in stopping so the standard set up should be alright although balance might be better with series 2 rear brakes.

Thanks Stuart.
I really would like to have less brake pedal effort. Going from a modern car to the jag is a big difference in brake pedal force. I always keep well back from the car in front!
