#1 Hood Lining Colour

Post by Philk » Sat Jun 08, 2019 8:46 am

So.... am beginning to plan ahead to some trim work on our 3.8 OTS this Autumn. One of the major jobs is a full retrim of the hood (which will be Black mohair with a beige lining). Having looked at a number of trim suppliers, they all seem to use a common fabric (black mohair with a "beige" "Dobby" lining). At first sight (I have a sample here in front of me - see photo below), the lining does not look as "beige" as on the 3.8 Factory Fit pages and has a different pattern.

Can I quickly ask those who have already undertaken this job, is this the same type of cloth that you procured and, if so, was there a particular supplier you used? Similarly, if you found a more authentic replica, details would be much appreciated!

Finally, I've seen a number of older threads referring to the colour as Dove Grey (I've also had "duck egg blue" mentioned to me). Is there an up to date "accepted" position as to what the colour ought to be?
