having major problem accessing rear brake callipers /pistons. current ones leaking badly so need to replace/rebuild. is there any trick removing them? managed to remover outer ones just about but can't get on to inner ones? do I really need to remove rear axel to get to them? please help!

Remove the IRS. It's not hard to do and then you can fix the whole thing on the bench where you can actually get at everything.
