#1 Anyone seen “my” E type?

Post by BobHarrington » Sun Dec 29, 2019 7:17 pm

I currently have a V6 convertible f type, which I love.
But back in 1967, thanks to a small inheritance and lots of hard work and overtime, I was able to buy a two year old E type. I was incredibly lucky to own such a car in my early 20’s. I often wonder what became of the car, but I don’t have the chassis number.
The spec. was:-
1965 Opalescent Golden Sand with Beige interior 4.2 DHC, with chrome wire wheels and a factory hard top, in matching OGS.
Reg. no GLX 751C

I didn’t like the look of the number plate stuck on the bonnet. So I removed the horizontal chrome bar, and fixed registration plate numbers onto wire mesh. I was pleased with the look, and had no overheating problems.
The car was sold new by Henlys of Colindale, London, and I was the second owner. I kept it for about 3 years, but with kids, mortgage, and starting up a business, I needed the money and sold it about £1,700, which was only a little less than I paid for it. Happy days!

FHC GLX 803C still exists - 1E20974 - if that helps narrow down the search.
