#1 Air intake trumpet

Ok rivet counters, should this part be silver or hammertone. Can’t find anything in the Haddock bible apart from a pic which looks matt silver.

Is what they refer to as “BASE (TO CARBS)” the intake trumpet?

The new one I bought recently from SNGB was hammertone.

Thanks Andrew, mine is currently hammertone (that’s not mine pictured above btw) but I thought I’d repaint it while its off. I guess if the SNG supplied one comes hammertone that would be correct.

No evidence of hammer finish on my 2 original ‘62 trumpets
I’ve repainted with smooth silver (slightly metallic) same as triangular Allie box

Well I’ve dropped the ball there, I should’ve referred to the Factory Fit first. Must remember that in future. It certainly appears, on the red car at least, that the plenum is hammertone and the trumpets are silver. That’s where I must’ve seen it previously.

Cheers

That sounds correct
Trumpets smooth silver and...
I just checked my plenums and they are both hammered finish...quite subtle silver though ..not that vey “speckled” finish that is sometimes seen
Hope that helps

Would it not be the same silver as used on the headlamp scoops?

I ended up using the Eastwood’s cad colour aerosol that I bought for my front suspension parts. I’m happy with it.
