I find it an interesting car with lots of peculiarities. Outside locks yet double boot hinges for one - or were the double hinges introduced before the inside locks? Anyway, I ask the assembled collective their opinions and when they think it may well have been made.

Several cars shown in that sequence I think . There are 2 side shots where the OBL escutcheon does not show up at all, and yet 1 where it is plain and obvious

I thought the same, but it is good to have confirmation from the elite!

This is a nice riddle for the afternoon.
There are
...at least 3 different tyres shown: wide white wall, narrow white wall, black wall
...3 different licence plates, no plates, dark front plate, light front plate
...3 different dash panels: with radio, blanked out radio, with two gauges instead of radio
...2 different headlight surrounds: no chrome bezel, chrome bezel
...with OBL (2 different cars) and w/o OBL
...at least 3 colours (as far as I can tell from the B&W photos)

E-Type #1: wide white walls, OBL, soft top down & half down, dark colour, radio blanking plate. 5 pictures
E-Type #2: narrow side walls, med. grey body, no front licence plate, chrome head light bezel. 1 picture
E-type #3: narrow side walls, light coloured front licence plate, dark body colour. 1 picture
E-type #4: radio, no ashtray, OBL. 3 pictures (dash panel 2x and engine bay?)
E-type #5: white hard top, dark body, black wall tyres, no front licence plate, 2 pictures
E-Type #6: white body colour, 2 extra gauges, 1 picture (interior, open engine lid)
E-Type #7: dark body colour, dark front licence plate, no OBL, 1 picture (approaching)

Not sure, where I should put the blurry shot of the steering wheel
Nice period pictures anyway! Any other thoughts?

This is on facebook too. Photo 10 shows a modified early roadster which had a supercharger fitted (along with US made gearbox) . You can read a little about the conversion in 'Jaguar E type 1961-66 by Brooklands books . If anyone has a copy - mine has fallen to pieces.

Fully agree that this is just a collection of old photos of a number of different cars. Some interesting detail present:

- The photo taken of the LHD steering wheel/instruments is definitely of an early car given the thin dashboard etc. Above the heater controls there is what appears to be an additional "jewel" warning light. Have not seen that before. Any ideas? It is not a continental LHD given the speedo is in MPH.
- The picture of the gent lowering the hood from the inside provides good detail of the earlier OTS window chromes showing the join between them and the much fatter lower windscreen chromes. Separately, was this the prescribed way of lowering the hood from the inside (which could explain why this rail was not trimmed)?

The gent lowering the hood is Jack Brabham.
