I am tentatively assembling the boxes of bits which make up my S1 OTS.
1.The main hoop of the hood frame fouls with the top strip of the B post trim panel ( BAS item no 15 ), see photos. How should that be kept clear of the hood frame when in operation?

2. What is the purpose of the chrome ferrules fitted to the underneath of the hood canopy?

3. I have just found a photo of the straps fitted to the underneath of the hood canopy timber, used to hold the hood down in the open position. Having covered my oringinal wood how do I position these straps to work properly. I am about to fit the hood cover to the frame and would appreciate guidance please.

The BAS trim pieces aren’t a great fit or a perfect copy of the originals, I’m going to either re shape and recover mine or dig out the originals and recover them, you may also find the door fouls the b post trim once fitted up and the shape of the vinyl covered aluminium piece in the top of the door at the front secured by the interior light striker is also a poor shape compared to original.

The chrome rings for the hood pan finish the holes that the leather hood hold down straps go through.

I’m not knocking BAS, I like them as a company and use their stuff but there is a reason they make bespoke trim to customers who pay to have their cars trimmed in their factory rather thank using parts from their kits and that’s because things need fettling.
