Wiper Spindle bracket switch

Hi Gents,

During the rebuild process of my 1967 S1 E-Type Wiper Motor (Lucas DL3) and Wiper spindle bracket, I noticed that the wire soldered onto the switch on the spindle bracket is black. I also see that the wire from the wiper motor to a bullet connector ( into which this black wire from the switch is also connected ) is R/Lgn.

My question is - is this black wire on the switch correct or should it be R/Lgn. It seems that the R/Lgn from the wiper motor goes up to a bullet connector and from the other end of the bullet connector this black wire is connected.

Grateful for any advice as always.

Well both my two 3.8's were red only and that was original . I know it goes to the red/light green wire ultimately .

Hi Barrie - many thanks for your reply. I strongly suspect that this black wire was soldered on at some time before I owned the car and I have owned it since 1982! Perhaps there was a wiper issue prior to 1982 and when "repairing" the issue, the wire was changed and hey, a wire is a wire, is a wire as they say
