#1 Meaning of numbers on Smith clock

Dear All,
can anyone tell me what the numbers on the dial of the etype Smith clock mean?
The numbers I mean Looks like:
O III / OO
I drive an etype S1, 2+2, 1966.

It helps you to know what hour it is. But I assume you don’t mean that?

The watch has no numbers for the time...

The clock fits behind the tachometer face. That face has the hour markings on, which are 12 , 3 , 6, 9 with dashes to define each hour between . The clock itself should have a serial number on its face, but what the significance is of such a number I do not know

Hi Robert
I think the numbers you have left on the face of the clock are the remains of the original Smiths Reference Number.
For a 1966 negative earth car it would have looked like this originally.
Whereas earlier positive earth cars had this Reference Number
