I have decided to give my 3.8 a present and upgrade from the current generic aluminum item to a Marston replica product.
So far I have been able to identify 4 separate manufacturers making the correct finned version - these are Fosseway, Coolcat, Nar and Radtec all of which have small differences.
The Fosseway and NAR have the correct 25 blades each side, the Radtec has 23 and the Coolcat 31. Some designs have the little "tabs" in the middle of the fins and some do not.
Would be very interested to hear of owner's experience of these radiators as they vary in price significantly with the Fosseway being well above the cost of the other 3
Is there any difference in the cooling capacity of the competing brands?

You’ve got one and you were quite happy to pay a bit extra for the sporty spec a few years ago. It fitted in and mated up as hoped, doesn’t leak and has worked well in that time.

Now, despite that faithful service you are a bit bored and can’t help noticing it doesn’t look quite the same as the designer label ones in the flashy magazines with the sexy shaped sides. So although a new one can’t work any better than your current one does, you have decided to ‘splash out’ but you are careful with money so you’re asking how to be extravagant on the cheap, when beauty is in the eye of the beholder?

Even though we’re talking radiators not wives, you could be heading into choppy waters!

Fosseway is probably the best. You can buy a Marston plate from Coolcat if Fosseway do not supply one.

I think Fosseway is also just by Jaguar for their projects. At least that's what Fosseway told me few years back.

I have a Fosseway radiator (and Coolcat replica Marston plate) on my 3.8 and am extremely pleased with it. No affiliation to the company other than being a happy customer. I also got their solid state Otter Switch at the same time.

Thanks for those helpful comments chaps - looks like in this case highest price is the best!

I bought a Radtec last year for my 61 and couldn’t be happier. In fact bought two, one for a mate, and got a substantial discount. Also came supplied with the replica Marston tag. Great company to deal with too.

I installed the Fosseway in my Series 1, and on a 90+ day, in traffic, my 4.2 stayed cool and ran great. They make a fantastic product.
