#1 S1 non-flat floor 3.8 carpets - looking for original photos

Post by ysmalkie » Tue Jan 26, 2021 8:41 pm

I am looking for original photos of carpets (laid out, during disassembly or on the car).
I have found some but I still need a bit more info.

There is a very nice video from BAS:

They're showing an insert in the gearbox tunnel carpet piece:

How did it originally look like?

Mu October '63 car should have a toe board for the passenger side: does anyone have a drawing of the board? How was it mounted?

I understand there are 4 pairs of carpets:
- floor carpet with the vinyl section
- Toe board/scuttle section
- front gearbox tunnel/under the dash section
- rear gearbox tunnel section
Were there carpet pieces on the propshaft tunel? The SPC does not list one..

Hi,
I don’t have pics of all the original carpets from my Nov 63 fhc, but the set supplied by Aldridge were the same size and shape. As per your post, there were 4 sections - toe plate, forward gearbox cover, rear gearbox cover and the footwell. Nothing on the propshaft.
Some pics from the trial fitting of the new set:
