#1 BD18117/4 seat slide bolts length

I am trying to find the proper length and the end type for the BD18117/4 seat slide bolts which bolt the seat slides to the floor.
They were slotted, flat head type like these:

however would anyone have their length? Were they pointed or plain end?
They must have been special, as the PN suggests.

I dont have the precise length to hand, but i believe its about 40mm, but they can be a bit longer without causing any issues

Hi Tadek
See attached photograph of one of my seat runners which appears to have been torn out of a rusty floor prior to restoration.
The screw is rusted solid to the spacer although it appears to be intact. It is a 3/4" long 1/4" UNF slotted pan head set screw.
I think the rail has seen better days.

So again, to confirm it's a pan head slot screw ¼” UNF thread, not pointed.
Harold Lang e-mailed me earlier that he measured it to 25/32", which is just 1/32" longer.
The spacer that you have there on the photo is 3/8", am I correct?

Hi Tadek
Yes, the dimensions for the screw are correct as far as I can measure, no point on the end. I have no reason to assume the screw is a replacement but I suppose it is possible.
The spacer is indeed 3/8" thick and has an outside diameter of 3/4".

Yes, So:
Spacer: 12/32"
seat slide: 3/32"
Leaves 5/16" for the floor thread.
I always wonder - do you teach kids in school to calculate in fractional inches?? In which grade??
I think fractional inches open up ones mind to a different, more challenging system..... :-)

Funny that.
When I started school we were taught in Imperial measurements. Then around 8 years old we went metric and we were taught in metres and millimetres (don't say centimetres - there is no SI unit called centimetre). All through my education we were taught metric and when I started my apprenticeship we spent our first year "off the job" training, learning all the machining and fitting skills in metric.
When I moved to my employer's toolroom we worked in Imperial! Although sometimes metric. Now I think in either or neither measurements.
Buy fuel in litres and calculate miles per gallon.
