Hi,
The bleed screws that came out of my 67 S1 are standard tapered. Is there any advantage replacing with the ones with the ball bearing. I have never seen or used them before. Do they act as a kind of one way valve? I was going to opt for the Goodridge speed bleeders but they are not cheap.

There are a few different one way valve type bleeders out there. A ball type seal will not be one way unless there is a spring involved. I’ve not used the Goodridge one way bleeders, but have had good results with the EzeeBleed brand which have an internal ball and spring type valve. Some of the designs with a spring loaded tapered sealing point can work well on the first use, but seem prone to malfunction a few years down the road in my experience.
With any bleeder it’s always good practice to run a rubber sealing cap to preclude moisture and grit.
