Has anyone used this Wind Deflector in a S1?
The description is a bit vague and the download picture has some incorrect notation.

Or do you know of someone who does a wind deflector for the S1.
I will say if the front bow of the top pops up because you haven't secured it down it provides a very pleasant cockpit atmosphere at 80mph! Of course you can't see through it but I had an idea to create a bracket that would hold it up. Works very well's a wind block.

I would also be interested to know if anyone has had any success with a deflector with the short wheelbase E-Types. Our efforts have been mixed.
I bought something similar or perhaps even the same as the cabrio product in your post on eBay. It was advertised as suitable for a S1/S2. However, I found that the fixing points for the frame were too far forwards and the deflector sat in front of the seats. I thought about fabricating a frame, but it seemed like too much effort. In the S3, the fixing points are behind the seats and it seems to work well there for some friends who have fitted one.
I eventually settled for a Swiss ‘Airstoper’ It’s basically a shaped stocking that sits over the headrests. It has long curtain that covers up the gap between the two seats. At the base it hooks onto the seat frames. It does give some improvement in comfort at speed, but I don’t think it’s as good as a proper wind deflector. As a result, we cruise at no more than 2,500rpm or 62ish mph, which is moderately comfortable. Our Airstoper is known as the ‘Ena Sharples’ and it makes a guest appearance if we have any motorway driving to do.

Well, no headrests in my 62. I have to put a stocking cap on 60mph and up. Only hat I can keep on.
It is amazing what a difference raising the hood bow vertical makes. Maybe I’ll look at brackets again.
Wonder why they don’t make one for the S1. Certainly worse wind than a S3. Seems like just a different set of brackets on the existing unit.

#4 Re: S 1 Wind deflector
I have been using wind blockers on my S1 for years. Ray Livingston in the US produced the 'Blowviator' which we loved but drew adverse comments from owners who thought the way the car presented to other motorists was more important than the driving experience
Ray got fed up with it all and production stopped. We have covered about 40,000 miles through Europe with one and managed 1,000 miles in three days without feeling we had gone five rounds in the boxing ring. http://forum.etypeuk.com/viewtopic.php?p=4297#p4297
Dave Kerr took up the gauntlet and produced some using the MX5 (Miata) windjamer with brackets to attach it to the hardtop mounting points. It was beter than the Blowviator in that you could erect the hood with it in place and it was just as effective once Dave had modified the screen with a weighted curtain: http://forum.etypeuk.com/viewtopic.php?p=39715#p39715
Contact Dave to see if he still does them.
