Door lock assembly BD20095
#1 Door lock assembly BD20095
Am I correct in thinking it will be easier to replace my non working one with a new one? When the door is open and unlocked the cog just spins round so that when I close the door it doesn’t engage to secure the door shut. I stood against the door and lent in to pull the door handle up it engages the cog and the door is secure. I have stripped the door card off and can’t see anything obvious. Is there a simple fix? Thanks in advance.

Hi Andrew, when you say “pair” the issue isn’t the door lock but as per the attached photo, unless I am missing something!!

If you've got the door card off, remove the lock & see how it works, it might be something simple like the lever not fully returning to the buton released position, which a clean & lube with WD40 or similar will fix.

No sorry I didn't read your post properly.
From memory these things are riveted together and I've never pulled one apart. I don't think that the gear should turn freely.
If you can buy a new one, that's what I'd do.

Could also be that the adjusting screw behind the push button is keping the lever in a slightly pushed position,
screw it in slightly to give a bit ofclearance
