I would like to find a 3.8 OTS project car ready for a full restoration (I know you’re all thinking “wouldn’t we all” lol). I can’t believe there are many/any RHD cars left here so how about sourcing one in the states?
Has anyone done this if so what’s the process and plus/minus points?
I’m off to Florida for two weeks in May so thought I’d have a Google for project cars, and there are a few there

If you have not done so already, you may want to browse the inventory at the Beverly Hills Car Club.

I know a number of people that have sourced cars from there and, quickly looking at their E-Type inventory (remember to put XKE into their search box) they range from restoration projects through to quite presentable cars. If nothing else, this will provide you with some US Price guide points.

I did not buy my car direct from them but that's where it came from prior to it arriving at the dealer in the UK (whom I bought it through for peace of mind). The car exactly matched the description and the copious number of photographs on their website. Others may have had a different experience but in my specific case it was definitely "what you see is what you get".

Unfortunately Phil 'what you see is what you get' was most definitely not the case for me.

Beverley Hills Car Club.
I was happy with the 67 FHC I bought from them a few years ago. Was expecting a few hidden horrors but nothing found. Should have knocked them down more on the price though.
