#1 All tucked up for winter !

Post by 44DHR » Fri Dec 02, 2022 5:44 pm

We have been fortunate with the mild weather recently down here on the Island, but things are about to turn, so yesterday - 1st December (!) - I have never left it that late, I took the car out for a final run in 2022 before any potential salt gets put on the roads.
I needed to turn the car around as the winter jobs are focussed around dropping the sump to check the seal around the main bearing cap, plus finally fitting the Pontiac Fiero fan I have had for the past 5 years - as with things improving we hope to use the car a bit more next year for touring trips.
After the run and as the sump was coming off - plus to get the old oil out over the winter - that was drained. Wheels removed as usual and all laid up today. Before anyone asks, although I have the updated high angle track rod ends, I still like to take some weight off them with the outer axle stands.
Now the work begins !
How’s everyone else doing with their winter plans ?
Cheers,
Dave

Dave, I think my winter plan, no more like a wish, is to have as neat and tidy a garage as yours!
I too took ours out for a run the other day, now to take the bumpers and headlights off ready for re-chroming.
Otherwise continuing on my S2 OTS project……
Good luck with your tasks.

Still need her out for some fashion shoot on the 11th weather permitting. Since the car is stored in my warehouse which is next to my office I can play (drive or maintenance) when ever the need arises....

Some of you guys work in well organised, tidy luxury !

I’ll just scurry off to my somewhat untidy cramped (and cold) garage.
Series 1 FHC purchased 40 years ago. Courted my wife in it.
Series 1 2+2 when the kids were small now sold.
Series 1.5 OTS in opalescent maroon, Californian car. My retirement present.

Hi guys,

Sorry to hijack this topic, but can you let me know what system you use for posting photos?

I'm a newbie here and have tried to sign into IMGUR but it says that it is not available in my region!!(Bucks).

So any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Richard
