My E-Type, bought totally taken apart, came with a back door of another color inside and out, so probably not originally for that car. It seems to fit well though. But what script should I have on for a March 63? The E-Type script and Jaguar was on, but the two holes below, is it supposed to have 3.8? If so, can't find it to buy...

As far as I know on series 1 3.8 the only script is the Jaguar name and nothing else, looks like you have either a 4.2 or series 2 hatch. I don’t know whether it is the light or something looks wrong on your rear.

Limora shows both E-Type and Jaguar available for 61-64, but no engine size script

Danny, you're right, I found a picture from when it was for sale on ebay in 2009, the original back door only says Jaguar. I wonder if the Jaguar script early on was placed where it is on my later back door. Does anybody have a measurement on an original S1 back door from bottom of door to bottom of Jaguar script?

I think your measurement is from the top of the door to the bottom of the script.
I've measured mine from bottom of door to bottom of script as approx. 98mm.

Stuart
