Hi:
Did all OTS's have hard top brackets installed?
Mine did not have any, so I am trying to determine if they are missing or not required unless you have a hardtop?

And mine is in the middle of both

The early OTS did not have brackets installed for attaching the hardtops.
I think I have read here that hardtops were produced later as a factory option (maybe in 1962?) and since then brackets were installed on the OTS body.
Certainly David (Heuer) could tell us whan was that...

All bar the first 51 OTS's could be fitted with the hardtop. It did take Jaguar three goes to get a 'production' version sorted though!

So a "production version" was available from ca. March 1962, as numbers from XKEdata tell us.

Are pictures of the early pieces constituting kits A and B (brackets probably) available?

None that I have been able to find. The fitting instructions would help but I don't have copies.
