Good evening all !

I wonder if I could trouble you fellow E type enthusiasts for some advice regarding the bleeding of the clutch slave cylinder , I have no faults but wanted to just renew the fluid and have tried bleeding in the conventional manner as I have successfully achieved with the braking system , but cannot get any fluid to pump through , but as I mentioned earlier have a perfectly fine working system ?..

Hi .....whats your name...please try to put it in the signature area with your car model. ....it keep things friendly and makes it easier to reply to model specific questions. ......so your clutch was all working ok.......in my opinion the easiest bleeder tool is easy bleed.....just a length of tube with a one way valve in the end.....and a plastic pot to catch the fluid.....open the reservoir lid......open the bleed nipple....press down the pedal. .....fluid should come out......hold the pedal down and close the nipple ( easier with 2 people) or use a length of 2x4 to hold pedal down...........release pedal......repeat..........never release pedal with nipple open or it sucks in air...........Steve

Thank you Steve ,

I have followed that procedure but still can’t produce any hydraulic fluid at the bleed nipple of the slave cylinder , but clutch still operates perfectly?

Thank you for your help in advance

Sounds like the bleed nipple isnt opening?.......all your hydraulics work ok to push out the slave piston...so if you open the nipple it must push out fluid.....Steve

Is your bleed nipple gummed up?

I have had the bleed nipple completely out in my hand and operated the clutch pedal and still nothing appears !

Press the pedal down......hold it down. .....then undo the nipple......fluid must then come out......unless there isnt a hole right through in the cylinder for the nipple.......but then how did the clutch get bleed......Steve

There are two more extreme tests you an do the one is to leave the bleed valve open over night and see by morning whether fluid has dripped out or undo the line to the slave cylinder and see what the hell is going on when the clutch is depressed.

Check with a paperclip or such to see if the channel to the cylinder is open. There is a possibility that a ballbearing has been used for sealing and it has rusted in place.
