Hi,
I have a question about wheels, when the production started in 1961, were the E-types produced with alloy or spoked wheels? Were the spoked wheels an optional?
Even if I have an OTS, I prefer the D-type design.....
Thank you

All cars were produced with wire spoke wheels only. They were painted silver or chrome was offered as an option.

All E-Type's were fitted with painted 5"x 15" wire wheels at the Factory. Chrome wire wheels were a cost option. For competition Jaguar supplied 5.5" x 15" wheels for the rear only. More info here:

D-Type wheels were never a Factory option, besides they were 16". After-market D-Type style wheels were a period accessory and they did improve handling on the track as they were stiffer. Be careful when choosing a vendor as there are reports D-Type style wheels not being true and out of spec. Others here may be able to offer recommendations.
