Radio Console - S1 4.2

Hi all, I am have purchased a new frame for the radio console on my S1 4.2, as a prior owner had installed a homemade item.

A couple of queries I would appreciate some advice on:
- how does the metal faceplate attach to the frame? It has four pins (photo below) which engage into four holes in the frame, but I can't work out what holds them in place
- regarding the black trim panels that go over the sides where the speakers are (photo below), does the front edge of these fold over the front of the console frame, or do I trim them off at the front edge?

On the second point, I folded mine over. Used a heat gun on low setting to make it easy to bend
