Hallo,

i am currently thinking of buying a new windscreen and all the other glas for my restoration project (S1 FHC 1963). All the screens i removed from the car had a green or blue tint (i am not sure if it is blue or green) except the both rear quarter glass and the left hand side glass that are clear. All glass have the Pilkington logo, exept the Windscreen that has a SOLEX DUPLATE logo on it.

So i am confused what has been originally on the car. Any idea how to find out? Was blue tint also an option? At Pilkongton only green is available.

I am grateful for every hint.

Hi Steve,

thanks for the hint. The clear glass has all the same manufacturing coding 4th quarter of 1963 and my car was build in December. The tinted glass is not clearly identifyable, the month is the same as for the clear glass but the year coding is not defined for the SUNDYM logo.

I can't help you on the colour, check the SPC, however I can tell you that if you order glass from Pilkington you can order it without logo and then sandblast the logo using a stencil.

I used to make the stencils, however I no longer have the access to the laser printer :-(.
